ಜೀವನಾಂಶ (Maintenance/Alimony) ಎಂದರೆ ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನ ಅಥವಾ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕತೆಯ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪತಿ ತನ್ನ ಪತ್ನಿಗೆ (ಅಥವಾ ಪತ್ನಿ ಪತಿಗೆ) ನೀಡುವ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಬೆಂಬಲ. Maintenance, often referred to as alimony, is the financial support that a husband provides to his wife (or vice versa) during separation or after divorce.
