About Court Fees in Karnataka

Court fees are mandatory charges paid when filing a civil suit or case in Karnataka courts. The fee depends on the value of the subject matter (money, property, etc.) in dispute.

How is it calculated?

According to the Karnataka Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, fees are levied as a percentage of the claim amount, often in slabs. As the claim amount increases, the marginal percentage usually decreases or specific fixed amounts are added.
